But now she realizes that all that was the just the warm up for the real race. Ancient forces that once terrorized the world are trying to return, and Cassie is the only one who can stop them...

Ride the Storm Cassie Palmer Karen Chance 9781101989982 Books Reviews

Like the previous books, this is a faced paced, whirl wind type of novel. At times, it is hard to keep up with the fast pace, and I have to re-read sentences to make sure I didn't miss anything. At times, I have to stop myself from skimming; so, I can get to the next page. Around 70% of the way through the book, I had a minute of wanting to stop reading so that it wouldn't end. That didn't last too long.

I didn't realize this book was 600+ pages. It is Karen Chance novel, and I bought it without looking at the reviews or description. I knew I would just get lost in Cassie's world for a few hours, and that was enough for me.

I cannot wait until the next book. Until then, I may need to go back and re-read the previous books. There are parts that I have forgotten, and it may help me get through another year of waiting. Hopefully, Dory's next book is right around the corner.
This is the eighth novel in a series, so it may be confusing to start here, but the book was great. This book did an amazing job of moving the plot to the series along, tied up some loose ends, and provided resolution to a few storylines that had been left hanging throughout the series.
The author does an excellent job of writing action scenes, and you feel the frantic energy of the situation, as well as there being funny dialogue and commentary. There is also good character building and dialogue, and as a reader feel attached to the characters.
I have been reading this series since 2009 and I have to say I am not disappointed. I highly recommend this and the rest of her series.
I loved it, I power read it fast so now I will need to so a slower read to see if I missed anything. At one point I was worried that this might be the last Cassie book but the end leaves us open for more. Cassie finally is understanding her power and what she can do. A plus was the Dory scene, I'm hoping they can actually meet and have a conversation someday. Keep giving us such fun books Ms Chance.
Oh my!! This ending killed me!!! I was in tears! I felt like being torn apart, chewed on and swallowed, just to be spit out again and trampled on at the end, and finally woke up, lying on a beautiful meadow on a warm summer day, until a bee sting caused my throat to tighten which took my last breath away. You know what I’m getting at?! This was a whole lot of chaos and my emotions went crazy but in the end it was oh so worth it!

This was even better than the last book. Who would have thought?! This series develops with each book, though it isn’t what it once was when it started. But who’s to say that change can’t be a good thing?!

I absolutely loved the first fight in this book, though it was more than just a simple fight! This was almost like the good old times and it’s exactly what I love about this series and Cassie so much. People helped each other and there’s chaos all over the place. Cassie still manages to surprise me more and more each time she comes up with ideas, one after the other. No matter if they were going to do some damage or not, she tried everything to survive and help others in the process. She was pretty selfless which I loved. I only wished she had Pritkin at her side.
Because come on! This series can only survive so long without Pritkin. I loved to see Caleb again even when it was only for a very short visit, but he gave me something to hold on to while Pritkin was gone. He’s like a connection to him and like family. Although I must admit that I developed a crush on young Pritkin. Oh! And I like Rosier more and more with each book and Billy was fantastic too! Ahh!! This makes me all so giddy!!

The only thing I wasn’t fond of in this book was the stuff with the fay and whatnot. Similar to the things of the previous book. I just couldn't stand it anymore. It was more than just confusing and there was one thing on top of the other and no way to keep up. I surely prefer Cassie in her own time line than all the way and years in the past.
I didn’t always like the scenes in the past when she jumped years back. They weren’t always so fun anymore because they got drawn out. Although there was so much new information in this book which I absolutely loved. There was a lot more inside to her parents and Mircea and everything in general and I was like a sponge soaking it all up. It was some crazy complex construction the author came up with for her characters and I just loved all of it. Every time I thought ‘Oh, it can’t get worse anymore’ – BAM! it did. I think this was the most emotional book in this series so far, for many reasons.

Can you imagine that this series gets more and more intricate with each book?! It almost seems impossible but I am very impressed how the author still comes up with new stuff and twists and turns at every possible angle – yet, makes it all seem very logical in its own way and leaves no room for questions because everything is very detailed and explained. This exact reason makes this series so amazing and the author to one of my all-time favorites. Her writing is phenomenal!

I hope she doesn’t let us wait too long for the next book! I feel like bursting with excitement and need to know how the story continues. I wish I could go back in time and start the series all over again for the first time! Just to be back at this point and feel all the emotions again this series has gifted me. =P
Absolutely great book. Let’s start there. This is the second half of the previous book that, due to length, the publisher forced Ms. Chance to break in 2. Ride the Storm is over 600 pages, not a quick read. Whereas the last book set up everything with only a few bits of plot resolved, this book went forward in leaps and bounds. It was fast paced and detailed. There is betrayal and heartbreak, revelations about her parents and others in her life. We meet new characters that may forever change the dynamics Cassie has with the Circle and Jonas. New allies are picked up along the way and Cassie puts in motion ways to protect her old ones from possible malicious “friendly fire”. I absolutely loved this book…..BUT it does take a while to get several big story arcs concluded. There were a few times that I felt there were extra pages and details that seemed superfluous to the point, while reading, I had wished the author was able to combine one of two events so to trim down a hundred pages. Overall a good 4.5 out of 5 stars (rounded up for to 5 since they don't allow half stars). It would have been a true 5 out of 5 but the small cliff hanger at the end (set up like the ones in the early books) was annoying especially since it relates to one of the main story arcs that had only partially resolved. The ambiguity made me want to grind my teeth.

I highly recommend this book to read especially if you were upset about the lack of resolution in the previous book.

***Mild spoiler below****

This book will nearly resolve the love triangle. I say nearly because the small cliff hanger at the end implies complications that may hinder her choice. It may not be what you expect or what you hoped for.
Never thought I'd say it. Never thought it'd be as good as the others, but boy was I wrong. This book is amazing!! It was a long book that really let you sink into it and enjoy every minute. Lots of action, never a dull moment, and I hate to say it but I already am looking forward to the next one. This book was well worth the wait and already I'm looking forward to her next one.
